Martha Stewart Designs in Las Vegas

As you all may know, Martha Stewart is a lady I greatly admire. Even after being in the slammer, Martha Stewart is still The Queen of Lifestyle Living, The Grande Dame of Gracious Living and The Diva of Lifestyle.

She and I have much in common. I love her creativity, her keen sense for fine design, sophisticated style and simple elegance. We both love the finer things in life.

I think the thing I admire about her most, is that she decided not to live behind the confines of the walls that were put around her.

After being sprung from the Big House she could have easily wilted away with shame or died of humiliation. She could have become angry and blamed others for her plight. She could have even gone into hiding or disappeared into obscurity after prison. But she didn't.

Certainly it has not been easy at times. But she started by forgiving herself. Others have forgiven her. She is getting through it. And she got back on track, stepped out from behind the walls and moved forward. Forward to create an even more spectacular life even in the face of adversity.

Martha never lost her vision. She sees beauty. Has an eye for what beautifully complements a living space. She has this gift. In her own sophisticated style she finds great channels to light up other's lives.

Personally I thought she had interior design and lifestyle expertise all wrapped up and covered. What more could she possibly create?

But, she proved me wrong again. Martha's world has no limits. She now has her designing eye on the entertainment capital, and wait 'til you see what that means for Las Vegas.

For starters, she just showed her new collection of table lamps, floor lamps, sconces and torchieres at the World Furniture Market in Las Vegas. Her new shapes and colors are simply sensational.

As a matter of fact, I recognize some of her new designs as inspirations from her trip to the south of France last year.

Martha loves to hit the antique markets and turn ideas from flea market finds into creations of her own personal style. It happens every time. She gets bitten by the designer bug and goes to work feverishly without distraction.

This time, that inspiration is leaving marks in her blueprints for Las Vegas.
I'll let you in on a little secret. She has partnered with a home builder and is designing signature homes right here.

The homes, the interior design, the landscaping are all designed and inspired by her own tasteful inspirations and charactered after her residences in New York, Maine and Connecticut.

They are Martha's Mansions. Address: Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Dramatically Alter Your Circumstances

May 11, 2007

The dancing fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas will speak to your heart if you let them. They are a union of water, music and light that is breathtaking. I know you will enjoy them as much as I do - when you visit Las Vegas.

Wait no longer to do so. You may have heard, there is talk of plans to raze the fountains for yet another high rise condo creation so the time to enjoy this flirtatious spectacle is now.

It's spring time - time for you to find new ways to release good energies and powerful vibrations; time to welcome and embrace everything you want with open arms. What better way to do that than experience Bellagio's Conservatory & Botanical Gardens? Have you ever been there and lulled your senses in the season's fragrances and color? Have you enjoyed the release of the butterflies? Witnessed Dale Chihuly's beautiful hand-blown glass flower ceiling in the hotel lobby? I've been there many times. Each time is a new and brilliant discovery for me.

You can stroll along ancient Roman streets and shop at the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace if that strikes your fancy. It has no rival in the world. It compares to shopping the Via Condotti and Rodeo Drive - oh, not to forget Palazzo at the Venetian.

Are you missing out on what's hot in Las Vegas? Do you feel you want an insider's view of what's going on in the entertainment capitol? You can find out how to get your hands on the insider tips at http://www.sylviahagen.com - Welcome to my realm.

How To Get What You Want To Get

May 7, 2007

Before going to the Spring Auto Show at the Southpoint Hotel & Casino I expected it to be a garage full of cars - old and new - nothing more. Not really of interest to me.

It did not have the promise of being anything spectacular at first, and it did not immediately occur to me that there's fun in the most unexpected places. Since I had made a promise to go with a friend -I know it seems ancient etiquette, but that's what Queens do - I kept my word. It turned out to be an unexpected surprise.

There I was in the middle of polished chrome and customized chassis inspecting an Oldsmobile Super 88 Deluxe Coupe and an Austin Healey. Then I was off to eye a Lamborghini and a Citroen 2CV(oh the memories of that one took me back to my 20-Somethings in Paris...... but, that story's for another day....). The 'deux cheveux' , or the duck, as we used to call it, was the actual car used in the Austin Powers movies.

Here I ran into a gent who had just bought his dream car - a 1940 Packard 120 Coupe customized with a chopped roof, purple flames and ground effect lights under the running boards and the hood. Whew, that thing was shiny!

But, I tell you, it was nothing compared to the fire in his eyes.
He came alive as he told me about his grand prize, and I was reminded of what true passion makes you feel like. He was alive as if by electricity.

He told everyone about the 'helluva deal' he got, coming all the way from California to find his prize. He loved the 'steal' he got and told me how he could've spent more than what the car actually went for. He was gushing with pride.

Whoah buddy, he was a super hero burning to speed away into the sunset on his dream wheels.

It was a great experience and it energized me just to be around him. I was reminded of how contagious true passion is. That's the feeling I get when I'm writing my monthly Insider Secrets of Las Vegas Newsletter.

My head starts to spin when I'm deciding what to take from the Royal Archives to fill into the newsletter. I realize I could write a book a month and still not cover all there is to tell. Somehow I always manage to pick the juiciest tips to share. I can assure you, they are far more truthful than anything you'll ever read in the newspapers.

I love being the Queen. It's like champagne to me. And I'd love to share my wisdom with you. Make sure to check out my tips on Las Vegas at http://www.sylviahagen.com. I look forward to welcoming you to my world.
